Clinton Dominates, Trump Picks Up

2016 Election Media Monitors In-Depth Report

White Plains, NY (October 3, 2016) – Media Monitors, the leader in local media monitoring, released its update on the primary election and the spots that both parties have been running on TV in sixty-one top DMAs (Designated Market Area) in the last ten days – September 23 to October 2, 2016.

TV Spots All Active Candidates: Sept 23 - Oct 2, 2016

In the last ten days, Hillary Clinton’s campaign aired 14,289 spots on Broadcast TV, up from 12,812 in our last report.

Donald Trump For President opened up their wallets increasing their spot count from 1,378 to 4,539 this report.

And the Super PAC Rebuilding America Now added 344 spots for Donald Trump, down from 548 last report.
Negative Spots Are Complicated

TV Spots "Against" Candidates: Sept 23 - Oct 2, 2016

In the last ten days, Priorities USA Action ran the most spots against Donald Trump to the tune of 5,191 ads, up from 4,876 spots from our last report.

Coming in #2 in negative ads was the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund with 1,699 spots against Hillary Clinton, up from 1,110 last report.

The NextGen California Action Committee paid for 643 spots against Donald Trump, up from 167 last report.

The Super PAC Voto Latino ran 217 spots against Donald Trump, up from 77 last report.

Also, the Latino Victory Project aired 206 spots against Trump, up from 68 last report.

The National Rifle Association’s Institute For Legislative Action bought 203 spots against Hillary Clinton, up from 106 last report.

And the Reform America Fund aired 198 spots against Clinton, up from 142 last report.

And now for the grand totals: 6,257 spots were run against Donald Trump, while 2,100 spots were run against Hillary Clinton.
